This isn't quite Jackie Moon wrestling a bear to keep attendance high for the ABA merger but shenanigans whenever an actual animal is involved during sporting events is always fun as long as someone doesn't get horribly attacked for the latest FOX show.

During last night's Hawks-Heat game in Atlanta, the Hawks figured it would be inspirational for T.I. and every other Atlanta-based rapper who scored a ticket to the night by having an actual hawk soar from the rafters to the handler on the court. Except, they didn't threaten the hawk to do his job correctly or else before he took flight (also know as the Zaza Pachulia treatment). So the hawk took a few laps around the building, which absolutely terrified those in attendance because you never know when an f'ing hawk is going to snap and come claw your eyes out like it's reenacting a scene from the Resident Evil video game franchise.

Here's video (via NBA Fanhouse) of the majestic flight of the stupid bird that wouldn't follow its training:

To me it looks like referee Danny Crawford is contemplating throwing the ball at the hawk to get him down. Luckily, he probably figured that was as terrible of an idea as letting Violet Palmer referee a playoff game and decided to let the handler do his job.

The whole incident made me think that Hawks should have an annoying sound byte of a hawk or bird noise whenever there's a swooping dunk by Josh Smith. Maybe it can sound like the guy in the old Jack in the Box commercial...
