It's been kind of a quiet summer at the ole' Talkhoops.net site because of the lack of actual news and impact from the NBA off-season and the fact that I've been trying to juggle some big projects and my new ventures with Hardwood Paroxysm and Cowbell Kingdom.

So I decided to take a break for the next 10 days.

I'm going to Australia to visit some family and see some sites. I'll be knee-deep in Outback Steakhouses, Fosters beer cans, and arguments about the cultural impact of Shane Heal versus Andrew Bogut.

When I come back, Talkhoops will be headed in a new direction with covering the NBA and get ready for the NBA season. We'll have loads of NBA season preview material and some fun new items that will become staples of the coverage next season.
