The Boston Celtics were up three Sunday evening with possession and just 37 seconds remaining in the game. They were facing the Clippers so you knew it was going to end up being their 14th road victory in 15 tries. But then Ray Allen missed a jumper. And then Chris Kaman grabbed the board.

Shortly after, Baron Davis broke down the Celtics defense (which set Doc Rivers and Tom Thibodeau off) and kicked it out for a game-tying three-pointer by Rasual Butler.

No problem, right? Boston still had the ball and the fate of the game in their hands. Rajon Rondo drove to the basket, tossed a separation elbow into the chest of Baron Davis, and then was fouled by Davis on a layup attempt with 1.5 seconds left. Two missed free throws later, the Clippers had the ball with one second left and a chance to upset the Celtics at Staples.

This was the ensuing play:

Baron Davis is probably the Rasheed Wallace of his generation of point guards (without the technical fouls of course). He wastes more talent than any other player. Maybe it's to get Mike Dunleavy fired. Maybe it's not. I don't know.

What I do know is that when he wants to take over games, he does it.

Boom Dizzle Goes the Dynamite.
