Now, I actually have little-to-no problem with him refusing to shake hands with the team that just sent him home for the summer. After all, this league is far too friendly with each other and I long for the days of cheap shots and clotheslines instead of hugs and pounds. But the real problem with the whole situation was James not going to the media after the game and facing the music. That was looked at as bad sportsmanship and cowardice, which rivaled those actions of Benedict Arnold, Karl Rove and that dude in Braveheart who sold Mel Gibson to the British for some kind of coins and French prostitutes (sounds like a Chris Wallace trade for some reason).
The reason LeBron did all of this? He claimed it was because he's a winner. And I believe him. He wants to have that winning mentality. He thinks that this is what winners do. And he may be correct. But it leads to a couple of confusing Chosen One happenings this week, which contradict his winning ways.
First off, LeBron James decided to go to the White House to hang out with the President. Cleveland.com reported on this and it seems like it was somewhat of an impromptu drop-in. Basically, the NBA season ended and LeBron James went to the White House. It's kind of what the NBA champions do every year. And with LeBron James being the established winner that he showed us he is at the end of the ECF, it seems justified. An NBA champion was crowned and LeBron went to the White House. Because that's what winners do. Good for him.
HOWEVER, there was also this commercial that aired after Kobe Bryant actually won the 2009 NBA title with some teammates (DJ Mbenga not included). (H/T to Ball Don't Lie)
Now, this is where I'm confused. Why would Puppet LeBron still live with Kobe during the time that Bryant is rudely throwing confetti everywhere and almost rubbing it in his face that he's the champion/winner and James is not? Why not go on vacation to avoid accidentally being apart of Kobe's celebration? Why just sit there with your Fruity Pebbles on the table?
Dammit, LeBron! You're a winner! You've showed that by not shaking hands, talking to the media on their terms, and dropping in on the White House like Boner Stabone used to drop in on the Seaver family.
Act like you've
