Mock Draft 2.0 Round 2

By Zach Harper - Email Zach

31. Seattle (from Memphis)
- Rudy Fernandez, SG, Spain

Great pick for Seattle as they grab a 1st round talent that should probably have been a top 20 pick in most drafts.

32. Boston- Marcus Williams, SF, Arizona

Marcus Williams going into college was thought to be a future lottery pick. Boston hopes he can turn into a future All Star candidate.

33. San Antonio (from Milwaukee)- Kyrylo Fesenko, PF, Ukraine

A big body and a big project that Popovich can keep in Europe for a couple of years due to the presence of Luis Scola and Ian Mahinmi on next year's Spurs squad.

34. Dallas (from Atlanta)- Marc Gasol, C, Spain

Dallas will grab Pau's little brother in hopes that he'll develop into a solid backup and contributor for the Mavs.

35. Seattle- Nick Fazekas, PF, Nevada

Sonics' third pick in the first 35 and final pick of the draft nets them the best shooting big man not named Yi Jianlin.

36. Golden State (from Minnesota)- Arron Afflalo, SG, UCLA

This guy would be a mid-first round pick in any other draft. He'll be a steal for the the Warriors in the second round and allow them to not have to over pay Mickael Pietrus.

37. Portland- Jared Dudley, SF, Boston College

Don't worry Portland, he isn't related to Chris Dudley. This kid can actually dribble without falling into the first row.

38. Philadelphia (from New York via Chicago)- Josh McRoberts, PF, Duke

Billy King takes his 3rd PF of the draft which might not make much sense to most people. That's why it makes perfect sense to King. One of these guys has to pan out, right? Right?

39. Miami (from Orlando via Sacramento via Utah)- Chris Richard, C, Florida

This is the 5th Gator taken in this draft and no one has benefitted from back to back titles more than this guy. Before last year, he wouldn't have even thought about the NBA.

40. Los Angeles Lakers (from Charlotte)- Demetris Nichols, SF, Syracuse

Lakers will hope this guy can figure out the NBA game a little quicker than he figured out the NCAA game.

41. Minnesota (from Philadelphia)- Alando Tucker, SF, Wisconsin

Tucker is an undersized SF and a slow SG but he can put the ball in the basket. Luckily he'll have no pressure of winning in a Wolves winner.

42. Portland (from Indiana)- Zabian Dowdell, PG, Virginia Tech

Dowdell will be a D-League player that has the potential to be a solid backup in this league.

43. New Orleans- Trey Johnson, SG, Jackson State

Now this IS the steal of the second round. Trey is one of the best scorers in this draft class and will thrive next to Chris Paul in N'Awlins.

44. Orlando- Wilson Chandler, SF, DePaul

Their first pick of the draft is a guy that probably won't sniff more than 100 minutes in his NBA career.

45. Los Angeles Clippers- Ron Lewis, SG, Ohio State

One of the best shooters in this draft will try and take shots from Cuttino Mobley. Good Luck.

46. Golden State (from New Jersey)- Ramon Sessions, PG, Nevada

Tall point guard that will develop into a fine back up for Baron Davis.

47. Washington- D.J. Strawberry, SG, Maryland

Wizards will put Da-ryl's son, the most ahtletic player in the draft, next to Gilbert Arenas on the practice floor.

48. Los Angeles Lakers- Artem Zabelin, C, Russia

This guy is a big time project but luckily he's 19 so he'll take a long time.

49. Chicago (from Golden State via PHX, BOS, DEN)- Aaron Gray, C, Pittsburgh

This picked has been passed around more than Aaron Carter. So they'll take Aaron Gray and hope he isn't the next Paul Davis.

50. Dallas (from Miami via Lakers)- Dominic McGuire, SF, Fresno State

McGuire joins Maurice Ager on the Dallas bench as two of the best bench scorers you've never heard of.

51. Chicago (from Denver)- Stanko Barac, C, Bosnia

Nothing more than a project to own the draft rights to while the player makes a nice career for himself in Europe.

52. Portland (from Toronto)- Reyshawn Terry, SF, North Carolina

Will be the D-League MVP in two years.

53. Portland (from Chicago)- JamesOn Curry, SG, Oklahoma State

He's a very streaky scorer that will try to play his way onto this young roster.

54. Orlando (from Cleveland)- Renaldas Seibutis, SG, Lithuania

Won't be in the NBA until 2010, but he'll be a fantastic backup guard when he finally makes the trek to America.

55. Utah- Carl Landry, PF, Purdue

This guy is regarded as too undersized to play the 4 in the NBA. They said the same thing about his soon to be teammate Paul Milsap.

56. Milwaukee (from Houston)- Herbert Hill, PF, Providence

A D-League player that hopefully makes a name for himself in Europe some day.

57. Detroit- Curtis Sumpter, SF, Villanova

His knee problems killed his draft stock to almost a non-drafted player but Joe Dumars knows talent and will risk this pick on him.

58. San Antonio- Nikita Shabalkin, SF, Russia

The Spurs always take a young European player in the 2nd round that you've never heard of. Here he is.

59. Phoenix- Jared Jordan, PG, Marist

The Steve Nash comparisons have been unwarranted and unrelenting. Here's his chance to prove it.

60. Dallas- Brad Newley, SG, Australia

Mr. Irrelevant of the 2007 NBA draft will never play a second in the NBA.
